POSCO ESI participated in “ELECRAMA 2016- The World Electricity Forum”, the largest exposition of electrical transmission and distribution equipment in the world; organized from 13th to 17th February 2016 at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) along with POSCO IPPC and POSCO TMC.

This year’s exhibition was also a huge success like others in the past. Visitors & exhibitors from over 120 countries participated in this event. Over 1000 exhibitors showcased their products. It was the largest congregation of power sector ecosystem in the world with over 1, 00,000 footfalls.

POSCO Family stall was well located in Hall 4A HA14 and measured about 160 sq meters. It was aesthetically designed to reflect POSCO’s global brand image, ideologies, achievements and worldwide presence. Samples of many products like motors, stators, motor assembly etc were kept on display to increase the appeal of the stall.

POSCO received overwhelming response and attracted more than 400 visitors from the global electrical industry fraternity, including key decision and policy makers, regulators, technical specialists and consultants, electrical equipment buyers, engineering project contractors and members of the academic community from India and abroad. Southern Customer meet was also held by P-ESI to raise awareness among them, of how using CRNGO instead of mild steel can conserve energy. It was a successful meet and many small players were interested to buy our product.

The Reverse Buyer Seller Meet (RBSM) in the exhibition concluded with USD 400 million (Rs. 2,733.6 crore) worth of business for electrical products and equipments from India. Some 52 countries from across the globe were part of RBSM where buyers from Africa, CIS and SAARC along with Iran participated.

The visitors showed keen interest in POSCO's products and exchanged information on cold rolled non-grain oriented steel (CRNGO), cold rolled grain oriented steel (CRGO) and various laminations. World electricity demand is estimated to increase by almost 80% over the period 2012-2040. Global investment in the power sector amounts to USD 21 trillion through to 2040, with over 40% in transmission and distribution networks. ELECRAMA 2016 provided a great platform for POSCO to meet prospects and customers and showcase the strength and capabilities of their manufacturing facilities. Its unique theme complemented the grand vision of “POSCO- THE GREAT”
